Section 423: Lost... and Found
Just when I get the feeling that the train is slipping off the tracks, big E City and his fat caboose gets things moving again. When I see him match up night in, and night out, I realize what a presence he has, and how in a year or two, there is a good chance he is unstoppable.
So two loses to the Bobcats, a nailbiter in Milwaukee, and blowouts against Philly and Miami have not knocked this team out of the hunt. Solid wins at Orlando and at home vs. the Clip show remind people that the laughing stock of the league no longer resides on 7th avenue.
Defined roles. Semblance of chemistry. Unselfish basketball. These types of phrases have not been said in terms of a Knicks team for some time now.
E City is the man, and will continue to be the man as long as he continues to posterize any big man in his way. Big confidence booster going toe to toe with D Howard.
Steph needs to feel out the games better. Last night was perfect. At the start of the 3rd, he felt the game was slipping out of control, so what did he do? Simply dominate on both sides of the court. He was a leader tonight, and not the leading scorer, but the inspiration for his teammates.
David Lee is turning into one of the premier forwards in the league. His double-double a night resume has become old news at this point. He is the Brian Urlacher of basketball, meaning he is involved in every single play.
A tip, drawing a charge, a great pass to E City, a big defensive rebound, thunderous dunk, you name it. This dude is the truth, and for playing last night with the serious shiner, he has just made the Knicks hall of fame.
Not since John Starks broke his shit against the Jazz, and came back in the same game to light them up, has a Knick displayed such strength and courage. As fans of this team, of this city, we should be proud and honored to call Dave Lee our guy.
That's all we need and the pieces fall into place like a Momo allibi. Chan Chan, Nate the Great, and Braceface Jeff need to get on the first train back in the other direction. They lack the character of these new Knicks. There is a flame that burned out a long time ago with those guys, and no need for them to curl up and die here. Bring in Wicox. Bring in NeNe, bring in Al Jefferson...and bring in big C Childs...killing it!!
