Follow Tonight's Game With Y2K
Dear Readers,
As some of you know, we chronicled yesterday's game with a running game log. For those interested, I will be doing the same again tonight during the rubber game of the series -- hope you tune in to check it out. The site will be updated constantly throughout the game, so keep reloading the page after 8 p.m. if you want to follow along with Y2K.
Meanwhile, the Phils and the Braves both lost yesterday, so the question of the day is whether you're a glass half-empty or a glass half-full kind of feller. Did the Mets blow a really, really good opportunity to pick up a game on their division rivals or did they drop a tough one and come away unscathed divisionally? You decide.
One way or another, we can all agree that we should be thankful as shit that yesterday's disaster didn't come at the expense of a game in the standings.
So yeah, I don't know about the rest of you, but that glass looks half full to me.

AFOMG--
I think it was me who came up with "Mr. Giambi will tell you when it's a strike"...
So, it was THIS blog. You're quoting yourself...
When I met AFOMG 9 years ago, he was a normal guy. He was like every other high school student I knew, if not just a shade taller than most. He was a little awkward at times, but teenage boys tend to be. It wasn't until last night that I realized how lucky I am to be a friend of A Friend of Mr. Glass.
When I think back on it, it was a night like any other: friends, sake, Vitamin water (they didn't have Redbull), rooftop house parties--a typical night for 20-something New Yorkers. We showed up a party where we knew nobody. It was a friend of a friend kind of thing. A few heads turned when we walked in the door. At first I thought it was because of my awesome rack and I was pleased. My shirt was, after all, new and particularly low cut. Self-satisfaction lasted but one fleeting moment and then it dawned on me: they're looking at AFOMG. Don't get me wrong, he's a good looking guy but I wasn't in Chelsea anymore so why was he getting all the attention? One by one boys made their way over to AFOMG to pick his brain about the day's loss and the future of the Mets. Finally some of his fans got to put a face to a name and could see the man behind the words. He was AFOMG and in their eyes, a legend.
I can't blame myself for not recognizing his celebrity sooner. I think we're all a little blind when it comes to our friends. Sometimes it takes an outsider to put things into perspective. So thank you whoever you are who lives at 99 John Street, Penthouse 10 because without your party last night, I may never have realized how lucky I am to be AFOAFOMG.
